We will soon be establishing the largest Sports Medicine Training Centre in NSW right in the heart of the Central West.

The range of courses on offer will suit managers, trainers, coaches, parents and supervisors of any sport where injury risk is present.

This will be a certificate level course with a number of optional modules provided including Advanced Trauma Management, administration of inhaled analgesics and Advanced Resuscitation.

Hosting your own course is simple.

You gather enough people in one place, provide a clean venue with heating/cooling, toilets, tables & chairs and we provide the rest. 

We travel all over NSW teaching First Aid to groups as diverse as school students, farmers, vineyard workers, teachers, tennis clubs, CWA groups, coaches and referees, childcare workers and miners.

We specialise in on-site staff training throughout NSW.

First Aid for kids - Junior First Aid

Course Summary

This three-hour course is designed to help your kids understand the difference between cuts and scrapes and a life threatening injury.

They will learn how to check for danger to themselves, know when it's time to call for help and most importantly, how to make that call.

Other info..

Typically run during the school holidays, this can also be arranged at any time to suit your needs.

Parents and carers are encouraged to stay with the children and participate in the learning process.  Tea, coffee and refreshments are complimentary for parents.

Course cost is $40 per child, and $35 for the second and subsequent children from the same family.

Ages from 8 - 12 years.  14 years and older are recommended to take the Apply First Aid program.

(Our staff have passed NSW Work With Children checks and are authorised to work with children of all ages)

Senior First Aid (Apply First Aid) - new course content for 2009.

Course Summary

This one-day First Aid course (updated to comply with 2008 national training standards) is accredited and approved by NSW WorkCover. The course is also nationally approved and accredited by VETA, the National Vocation Training Association.  All students completing this course undertake training in Automated External Defibrillators.

You are required to complete a theory component of your First Aid study at home before you attend a one-day practical training session.  You can choose to complete your home study either online via a secure website (ADSL recommended) or by workbook.

The expected duration to complete the course is up to 10 hours followed by approximately 5 hours of practical training and testing.

Childcare First Aid

Course Summary

The Child Care First Aid course is specifically designed for those participants who work in the Child Care industry and parents, grandparents and babysitter of young children.

The course is accredited by the Department of community services as a qualification for Child Care Workers. The course consists of topics pertaining to childhood accidents and childhood illnesses.

This course is accredited and approved by NSW WorkCover. The course is also nationally approved and accredited by VETA, the National Vocation Training Association.

The expected online duration to complete the course is 10 - 12 hours followed by approximately 5 hours practical training and testing.

Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques

Course Summary

This course consists of two main topics:

1. Oxygen Resuscitation
2. Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

This course is designed for qualified first aiders who require training that conforms to the recommendations of the Australian Resuscitation Council. This course is also nationally approved and accredited by VETA, the Vocational and Education Training Association.  

Course Content

Duration of this course is 4 hours practical training and testing. This level of training allows for advanced training that was not previously available to first aiders. The course outcomes follow the Policy Statements of the Australian Resuscitation Council.  Participants are typically required to hold a current Apply First Aid (HLTFA301B) certificate to enter this program, but participants required to learn this topic by their employer for specific reasons may be eligible.  Please contact us for assessment - 1300 766 120.

Anaphylaxis Awareness

Course Summary

This course is designed for those requiring the knowledge and skills in the recognition and treatment of anaphylaxis and how to use the EpiPen.

The course is composed of three sections:

  • Recognising the signs and symptoms of Anaphylaxis
  • Identifying Anaphylaxis from other medical conditions
  • Treatment of Anaphylaxis including the use of the EpiPen

Content

Course content conforms to the Policy Statements of the Australian Resuscitation Council. This course is designed with flexibility, so it can be adapted to cater for special needs of the client. One or two modules can be attended, with training in either module.

It is recommended that Resusciatation (CPR) training be completed in conjunction with this course.

Provide First Aid in a Remote Situation

Course summary

This type of training gives the first aider greater confidence as the casualty may be isolated from professional help for some hours or pehaps overnight.

Course Content

The course is comprised of modules from our WorkCover and VETAB accredited First Aid Course. The home-study component is approx 12 hours followed by 5 hours of practical training and testing.

The treatment that the casualty receives is covered in the Apply First Aid course, but this course has additional emphasis on the following:

  • Practical assessment of the injured casualty
  • Recording of documentation of the casualties vital signs
  • Casualty planning re further assistance -when, how and what - means
  • Splinting fractures in remote areas
  • Positive inspiration therapy for the injured casualty
  • Overnight bush skills
